Frequently Asked Questions
How is it different from a hot air brush?
A hot air brush blows hot air and dries the hair. Roya does not blow air: it heats the barrel and styles already-dry hair, like a flat iron in brush form. That is why the finish lasts longer and the shape holds better.
Does it work on my hair type?
It works from fine to very thick hair, including curly and coily. What changes is the temperature: the finer or more fragile the hair, the lower it should be. If your hair is chemically treated, bleached or damaged, stay in the lowest range, 140 to 160 °C, work in small sections and avoid repeating the pass on the same spot.
Which temperature should I use?
See the guide by hair type just above on this page. The rule applies to everyone: start at the lowest temperature in your range and only increase if needed.
Can I use it on wet hair?
No. Use it only on completely dry hair. On wet strands, the heat evaporates the water inside the fiber and damages the hair. Dry first, then style.
Do I need a heat protectant?
Yes, we recommend it. Any heated tool calls for a barrier between the heat and the strand, and the protectant also helps the style last longer. Apply it to dry hair, spread it well and let it absorb before turning the brush on.
How do I get a voluminous blowout?
Divide the hair into 2 to 4 cm sections. Start at the roots, wrap the section around the barrel and lift your hand slightly to create volume at the base. Glide slowly to the ends, turning the barrel inward at the end. Repeat section by section.
Can I make curls and waves too?
Yes. For waves, wrap the section around the barrel, hold for a few seconds and release while gliding. For more defined curls, use smaller sections and turn the barrel all the way down the length before releasing. The smaller the section, the tighter the curl.
Does the tip get hot? Can I hold it?
The tip stays cool (cool tip), designed for you to rest your hand and guide the section safely during use.
Does it turn off by itself?
Yes, the automatic shut-off kicks in after 60 minutes of inactivity. Even so, switch it off with the button after use. The automatic shut-off is extra protection, not a replacement.
Can I take it on trips? Does it work in other countries?
Yes. Roya is dual voltage and works on 110 V and 220 V without a voltage converter. When travelling abroad, just check the plug format of the country. And it already comes with a travel pouch in the box.
How do I clean and store the brush?
Let it cool down completely and wipe the barrel with a slightly damp cloth, without abrasive products. Do not wrap the cord tightly around the device and keep it out of the reach of children.
Is the Roya Brush certified?
Yes, it is INMETRO certified. The certification evaluates electrical insulation, heating control and the materials that come into contact with heat. It is what guarantees you can turn the brush on every day without worry.
Is there a warranty? How do I claim it?
There is a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects, on top of the 30-day return period. To claim it, message us on WhatsApp with your invoice at hand and we will sort it out directly.
